Here’s some stuff I’ve been listening to this week. Got a mixtape coming in the next couple weeks for February. Keep a lookout for it. It should be a good length and include a nice mix of indie, hiphop, etc. Anyways, here is what is keeping me going this week.
Coconut Records - This is Jason Schwartzman’s new project. It’s been around for a while, but I just recently rediscovered it. West Coast is a great anthem. I’d like to think Jason Schwartzman and I would be friends.
Mos Def – I love this guy. I actually really love his acting too, but his hiphop is even better. Great rhymes and great flow with an interesting voice. This song, Life is Good, is all things wonderful about hip hop. Nothing like rapping about things being good.
Ghostland Observatory – 2 guys. One looks like Pocahontas and the other seems to be a wizard of some sort. They are magic on stage though. One of the more enjoyable bands I’ve ever seen and their songs really make you want to move. Silver City is especially that way. This song will reverberate through your head all day.
