don't forget your towel
Man, I love the feel of a book in my hand and throwing it in the backback for trips. I like to turn pages and stare at pretty colors, beautiful words and see the book get weathered as I lend it out and get it back. I read a lot of graphic novels so the Kindle has never really had any appeal to me, but the fact that it has free celluar data is pretty damn cool. xkcd illustrates it perfectly, I think. Having the ability to check the news, do wiki searches and other fun web things for free is pretty alluring. I currently have an iPhone so it’s not a huge issue, but being able to use a larger interface with nice e-paper could be nice. Also, having a huge collection of novels and books at your fingertips could be awesome as well. However, it’s not $360 awesome to me right now. If there is a significant price drop or other competitors coming into the game, I could see this as a worthwhile investment. Any thoughts on the e-book scene? Personally, I just can’t wait until flexible e-paper comes around. Especially if it has color capabilities.
