Alternative Sports? I’m not even sure that’s what I would call them, but I hate calling them extreme sports. Either way, I felt compelled to share some of my favorite online clips. This first is the intro from Fully Flared, a skate video from Lakai, and the project was a collaboration of Spike Jonze, Ty Evans, and Cory Weincheque. M83 on the tunes and slo-mo splodies on the screen.
Next is a little re-imagining of the above video. This time, music by UNKLE, with a change in the setups and timing.
Changing gears (oh man, I’m great at puns), we have sweet little diddy called Roam. This is a mountain biking movie from The Collective and although short, it features some of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen on a bike. Someone climbs a tree on a mountain bike for crying out loud. Plus it has RJD2 and other great tunes.
Finally, a great video showing you how crazy downhill longboarders are. Originally found through Kitsune Noir, this video is quite insane. Seeing skateboarders pass cars is trippy.
