So, today is an especially dull Monday. Tornado watches around, it’s cloudy, it’s rainy. Should have used some of those sick hours today. Anyways, I saw this little video over on Neatorama and it made me 1) remember how hilarious crazy Japanese game shows are and 2) think about how long it takes me to get ready.
I’m typically out the door within 20 minutes. However, I usually don’t eat at home, or I take a smoothie or granola bar with me. But I do shower in the mornings and not the evenings. Basically, it goes like this:
Shower
Brush Teeth
Get Dressed
Feed the Dog
Grab some Food
Go!
How Sleep Works from How Stuff Works
So, I go for maximizing my sleep time really. Some people like to get up, read the paper, watch the Today Show, and go for walks. Personally, I enjoy sleeping as long as I can. It’s almost like a game too. Seeing how long I can sleep before I HAVE to get up and get ready. Sometimes, I overshoot and that just makes the morning hectic, but that usually means I’m wide awake when I get to the office.
So as boring as this post is, I was more hoping for some input. Do you readers like to wake up way before work or do you like to shower the night before, wake up and walk out the door? On that same note, do you get 7-8 hours? I’d say I only get about 6-7, but I know some people (Stoney) get like 10-11 per night and others (Dnoll) who can’t seem to find more than 4-5 hours per night. What’s your sleeping and waking up pattern? I think I may go for a change soon. Maybe wake up earlier, watch the weather, read The Times…you know, like a grown up.
about 30 minutes to brush teeth, get some food in me, make coffee and my lunch, and then hop on the bike.
the bike ride is my first wake up, and then i'll enjoy my coffee throughout the morning at school. this helps me keep my kid's names straight. seriously...too many names starting w/ "J" this year.
I'm down to like 8-9 hours but thanks for the shoutout

Women, you can't live with'em and they can't pee standin' up.

ideally, get up 80 minutes before i leave to run across the street for a swim. I've never regretted it, always have my best days when i make it, yet it still only happens 30% of the time. Most often: 30 minutes involving shower, cereal, and the confusing nonsense that is sportscenter these days.

if the bathroom is available when i wake up, then i am out the door probably 5-7minutes after that.
